Changing Attitudes In Recovery

Recovery is the process of building healthy esteem, of reclaiming lost ground, which allows health. Recovery includes accepting and working with issues such as: chemical dependency, eating disorders, addictive behavior, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, co-dependency and troubled personal relationships.

Whether you are personally struggling with addictive/emotional problems, or someone you care about is facing such struggles, the free written and audio materials on this site will help you gain new choices and ways of approaching these problems differently. There are separate tracks for Alcohol & Drugs, Depression, and Anxiety/Panic and free audio podcasts

I will help you ask the difficult questions. I will take you step by step through a healing process that allows you to relax into desired changes, as I have done for the past 40 years as a psychologist focusing on, Therapeutic Life Coaching with thousands of hurting people. I have had the opportunity to see countless examples of clients learning to deal successfully with problems that had robbed them of quality living. I would like to share with you this experience and wisdom about the change process, helping you build your own "Inner Coach."

The material on this site is incredibly deep and yet surprisingly simple. It shares wisdom on how to approach the process of change. Wisdom requires time and thought. Please give yourself the time to digest these nuggets of wisdom. Healthy change is a participation process - practice, practice, and more practice.

Looking at the Twelve-Step tradition, Step One states "We admitted we were powerless over alcohol - that our lives had become unmanageable." Since these words were first written in 1939, the "First Step" concept has been applied to many different problem areas. We welcome you, regardless of what motivates your desire for change. Our focus is on Steps Two and Three in the Twelve-Step tradition: Step Two states "We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity." and Step Three states "We have made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God, as we understand Him."

We have developed two paths to help you with your adventure/journey into recovery: CAIR Self-Help Groups share the Twelve-Step tradition of a loving Higher Power; the CAIRing Grace Groups share a Christ-centered perspective. Both paths are free and open to anyone desiring healthy changes in their life. You are welcome to download our free material to help in your journey. There are also recovery-focused books and audio CD's available to help equip you with needed tools and resources to enjoy the journey of becoming.
